Top IT Giants Onboard Over 1 Lakh Freshers in First Half of FY23
A total of 1,05,000 freshers have been hired by the top 4 IT service providers of the country.
Of these, Infosys has on-boarded the maximum number of freshers, followed by TCS, HCL Tech and Wipro.
Infosys, Wipro, TCS and HCL together have on-boarded over 1 lakh freshers so far in this fiscal.
As per the half-yearly reports, over 1,05,000 freshers have been hired by the top four IT service providers, which is higher than last year’s number for the same period.
Overall recruitment in the industry, however, is expected to see a slump after the record hiring in 2022 backed by demand.
While last year over 2.3 lakh freshers were recruited, this year the hiring is set to see a drop of over 30%.
Companies are now inclined to reduce dependency on lateral hiring and keen to improve utilization levels.
HCL Tech is expected to hire over 30,000 freshers till March 2023.Wipro, on the other hand has set a target of 30,000 hires for this financial year
As for TCS, a total of 35,000 freshers have been hired in the first half
The company has also revised its fresher hiring guidance from 40,000 to 47,000 for this fiscal.
